If you are in Monongalia County and have an emergency,
dial 9-1-1! If you are unsure if
you're situation is an immediate emergency or not, please do not
hesitate to call 9-1-1. If staff determine the situation is
not an immediate emergency, you will be transferred to a
non-emergency line and your situation assessed.
If you require a call for service (services of police, fire, or EMS)
but are not experiencing an emergency, dial MECCA's non-emergency
line at 304.599.6382. From there your situation will be
properly addressed.
TTY/TDD Users
If you are deaf or hard of hearing, MECCA 9-1-1 is equipped to handle your TTY or TDD telephone call, on either 9-1-1 or a non-emergency line.
A Note About Cell Phones
Due to the constantly changing and emerging technologies of
wireless phones, there is a possibility that, when calling 9-1-1
from outside of Monongalia County, you will reach our center.
This is why one of the first questions you will be asked when
dialing 9-1-1 is "What is the location of your emergency?" If
you have reached our center from a surrounding county, we will
promptly transfer your emergency call to the appropriate
9-1-1 center in the proper county.
